What we sell

Effect supplies laboratory research materials. Every item in the catalog is sold strictly for research use only.

These materials are not drugs, not foods, not dietary supplements, not cosmetics and not medical devices. They are not for human or veterinary consumption, ingestion, injection, inhalation or topical application, and they are not for any diagnostic or therapeutic purpose.

They have not been evaluated or approved by any medicines regulator in any jurisdiction for any indication, and nothing in this catalog should be read as suggesting otherwise. Where a page notes that a molecule has been approved somewhere as a finished pharmaceutical, that approval belongs to the sponsor's product, manufactured and released under a regulatory filing. It does not extend to research material and it never will.

What we do not claim

Nothing on this site is medical advice. We make no claim that any material we sell diagnoses, treats, cures, mitigates or prevents any condition in any person or animal.

Where a page describes published literature, it describes what was examined and in which model. A result measured in cell culture or in a rodent model is a statement about that model. We do not extrapolate from it, we do not imply an outcome that the source did not measure, and we ask that you do not read one of our pages as though we had.

We do not publish dosing information, reconstitution-for-use procedures, administration guidance, cycle charts, or protocols of any kind. This is not an oversight we intend to correct. Requests for them are declined.

This is enforced mechanically, not just editorially. The build that generates this site scans every finished page for therapeutic language and refuses to publish if it finds any. A claim cannot reach this site by somebody forgetting.

Who we will not sell to

Anyone who tells us, in an order note or anywhere else, that the material is intended for human or veterinary use.
Anyone who asks us for dosing or administration guidance as a condition of purchase.
Anyone below the minimum age in their jurisdiction.
Anyone in a jurisdiction where supplying the material would be unlawful, or where we cannot lawfully export it.
Anyone we reasonably believe intends to resell the material for human use.

We may decline or cancel any order, at any point before dispatch, for any of the reasons above, and we will refund in full when we do.

The confirmation notice

A notice appears once, at the foot of the page, asking you to confirm you have read this condition. Dismissing it records that confirmation in your own browser and nothing more.

It never removes product information from the page, never hides a price, and never tells a search engine to skip the page behind it. Catalogs in this category commonly do all three. We regard that as using compliance as a pretext for making prices hard to compare.

Why our pages read the way they do

Some of the language on this site is noticeably colder than what you will find elsewhere in this market. That is deliberate.

A vendor willing to imply an outcome in order to close a sale is a vendor whose certificates you should also be skeptical of, because the same judgment produced both. We would rather lose an order to a warmer-sounding competitor than teach you that our copy bends under commercial pressure.

Reporting a problem with this site

If you find a page on this site that reads as a therapeutic claim, tell us. We will fix it, date the fix, and treat it as a defect in the build rather than a matter of opinion.
